The Home Lover Behind Pine Gable
And why this little corner of the internet exists
I have rearranged a living room in my head before falling asleep more times than I can count.
For someone who runs a home decor blog, that might sound like an obsession. Honestly, it is also the whole reason Pine Gable exists.
I know what it feels like to love your home and still feel that something is missing. And I know it is almost never the expensive thing you think it is.
How Pine Gable started
Like most people, I spent a long time saving photos of beautiful rooms and thinking they were only possible with a big budget and a professional designer.
Then I started paying attention. The rooms I loved most were not the costly ones. They were the warm ones. A corner with soft light. A shelf arranged with care. A small change that made a whole room feel new.
So I started collecting those ideas in one place: decor that fits a normal budget, DIY projects a beginner can actually finish, and smart ways to make small spaces feel bigger. That collection became this blog.
The good ideas were always out there. They were just scattered, complicated, or written for people with unlimited money. I wanted to fix that.
Why home decor
Because home is where life happens. It is where your family gathers, where you rest after a long day, and where guests decide how welcome they feel.
A home does not need to be perfect to be beautiful. It needs to feel like yours.
That feeling is what I chase in every article on this blog.
Who is behind the blog
Pine Gable is run by me, Ethan Cole, founder and editor of the blog. Every topic here is chosen, written, and reviewed under my direction.
What I bring to this blog:
- A genuine love for cozy homes. Decorating, rearranging, and styling corners of a home is what I enjoy most, and it is what this blog is built on.
- A budget first mindset. Before any idea reaches you, I ask one question: can a normal person afford to try this? If the answer is no, it does not get published as a budget idea.
- Respect for small spaces. Most of us do not live in huge houses. Many ideas here are chosen with apartments and small rooms in mind.
- Seasonal joy. Fall, holidays, and every season in between. Changing a home with the seasons is one of the cheapest ways to keep it feeling alive.
What I write about is decorating ideas, simple makeovers, DIY projects, and seasonal inspiration. That is where my heart and my hours are.
A few things you probably did not need to know
- I believe every room deserves at least one cozy corner.
- Fall is my favorite season to decorate for. The colors, the candles, the warm light. Nothing else comes close.
- I would rather rearrange a room for free than buy something new for it.
- No decor idea on this blog is too small. Sometimes a moved lamp changes everything.
How the content here gets made
Here is the process, up front instead of buried in a footer.
Every article starts with research. I study the idea, look at real homes and real budgets, and shape it into simple steps a reader can follow without confusion.
DIY projects are written carefully, with the steps in the right order, so a beginner does not get stuck halfway.
Articles do not sit untouched after publishing. As I find better ideas and better ways to explain things, older articles get updated.
If an article contains affiliate links, that is clearly marked, as explained in our Disclaimer. You can also read our Privacy Policy to see how we treat your information.
If we get something wrong, tell us
Mistakes can happen. If you spot a broken link, a confusing step, or an idea that did not work the way the article said, please send a note through our Contact page. Confirmed corrections are made in the article itself.
One thing to be clear about
Pine Gable is a home inspiration blog.
What you will find here is decorating ideas, styling guidance, and simple DIY projects. For anything beyond that, like structural changes, electrical work, or plumbing, please hire a qualified professional who can see your home in person.
We can help you walk in with better ideas. The heavy work should be done by someone standing in the room.
What I want for you
I want you to spend less money making your home beautiful.
I want you to look at the things you already own with fresh eyes before buying anything new.
I want you to walk into your living room and feel calm, proud, and at home.
Mostly, I want your home to feel like yours, instead of a copy of someone else’s.
If that sounds like the kind of place you want to visit, you are in the right place.
We are glad you are here. Make yourself at home.
Ethan Cole
